2018 Favorites

January 1, 2019 seems like a good time to take a look back at some of my favorite photographs from the past year of 2018. The following are of various birds that I’ve been able to photograph near where I live in northeast Scottsdale, Arizona. The photographs are not necessarily the most technically perfect, but they represent something unique to me in their compositions and/or environmental settings.

Two of them received national and statewide recognition during the past year by being chosen as “Photo of the Day” on the Imaging Resource professional photography website (Wood Duck), and as “Honorable Mention” in the Arizona Game and Fish 2018 Calendar (Gila Woodpeckers).

Very nice collection of birds! You need a calendar of birds – next year. Or a calendar of “Photo of the Day” calendar.

Tom, your photography is incredible! I love the detail that you capture in each photo. I totally agree with Pam, your work is worthy of a calendar!!
