Few birds are as colorful and iridescent as hummingbirds. They flit from flower to flower, hover and then speed off. Watching them move takes a quick eye and even quicker reflexes to catch them in a photograph. Occasionally, they’ll light on a tree branch and briefly pose, but “briefly” is the operative word.
I’ve been trying for over a month to capture these little creatures, and have finally come up with four photographs that I think are fairly good…even managed to capture a couple in mid-flight. My next objective is to photograph them taking a quick little bath in a small water fountain I’ve made available for them. No bathers yet, but check back frequently to see if I’ve succeeded.
For now, here are my successes so far.
